The Cairns Mud Army is a co-ordinated effort by Cat Tannock. The volunteer Cairns Mud Army crew were on the ground directly after the floods and helped residents move rubbish and clean up their properties, however this role has now been taken over by the Cairns Clean Up Crew and all enquiries to assist with volunteering or requests for help cleaning your home or business need to be directed to the Cairns Clean Up Crew. (see above).

The State Emergency Service (SES) and Rural Fire Service (RFS) crews are conducting property "wash outs" which need to be organised through them directly - INFORMATION ABOVE

'WASH OUTS'
SES & Rural Fire Service

The SES and Rural Fire Service will be conducting ‘wash outs’ for homes that have been inundated with water.

The SES will use high-pressure hoses to clear mud and debris from homes.

Residents must request a ‘wash out’ service from the SES by calling 13 25 00.Alternatively you can register via the QLD SES app.

Residents should remove furnishings, appliances, including fridges and freezers, and personal items from any area that needs to hosed out. Items left in homes can be damaged by high pressure water.
